Founded in 1993 by Christopher Zorich, The Christopher Zorich Foundation funds and administers a variety of charitable, civic and philanthropic endeavors.
Programs and activities of the Foundation share a common purpose: to help those in need.
Since its inception, the Foundation has assisted over 80,000 disadvantaged children and adults.
The Foundation's programs include The Zora Zorich Scholarship: $20,000 (over 4 years) at the University of Notre Dame; the Care to Share program: Thanksgiving holiday home grocery delivery to 300 families; Love Grows Here: providing assistance to women in Chicagoland shelters; Holiday from the Heart: matches gift sponsors with community and non-profit organizations to supply children and families with new clothing and toys for the holiday season; and Chris Zorich & Friends: offering children in special circumstances attendance at sporting, entertainment, and cultural events.
Chris Zorich, former Chicago Bear and graduate of Notre Dame Law School, remains passionate about the Foundation and its mission. Chicagoans remember Chris as a three-time All American at Notre Dame, where he was elected captain of the Fighting Irish his senior year. After graduating in 1991, Chris was drafted by the Chicago Bears. In his rookie year, he was honored with the Brian Piccolo Award. Combining a tough football schedule with numerous charitable commitments has made Chris one of the nation's most outstanding professional athletes and individuals. He retired from professional football in 1998 to embark on a legal career with the goal of practicing child advocacy law.
